ZERO BOX LODGE . carriages 

The renovation project for the Barreiro-mar river and railway station in Barreiro will transform

an iconic and historic structure in a renovated project. Either for its residents or for a new vibrant community that has an ever growing appetite for the other side of the river.

A new mindset is stimulated, given the proximity to Lisbon and the river accesses that promote a communication where Barreiro starts in Terreiro do Paço (Lisbon).

A project that reconciles stay – new people to visit and stay at the Barreiro in a memorable experience of accommodation in old train carriages; work – a project for the local community, with new spaces for workshops, new jobs, which will bring new communities from outside and leisure (events) – a social aspect developed in the old nave of the station and which will be the link of the three dynamics of the project.

The ZERO Box Lodge concept will recreate the imagination of everyone who traveled from the Barreiro train station to the south of Portugal – Algarve – the old train lines will once again have coaches but now accommodation coaches.

Sleeping by the river in an old wagon will be one of the most unique experiences in the rehabilitation of this space.

You arrive by boat, you will find a magical and exclusive space integrated in a global, artistic, innovative project that at the same time celebrates the city’s industrial heritage and the strong tradition of the city’s associations. A meeting place for the various communities that will visit, stay or work at Barreiro-mar.
